In all the years that the United States of America has been a country, we have had generations of citizens looking for a leader that would guide us and direct us in truth and rightness; a leader that would have the best interest for us all as a whole nation. A very daunting and difficult task seeing how there are so many diverse desires and wants from the people of this nation. How does one filter through so many different priorities. Just where should their focus lie?

From the very beginning the leader of this nation, who was called president, has always looked past their own wants and desires on how to lead this nation, and instead looked to heaven and the written word of God for guidance and direction; the only source of truth. As time went on, particularly during the 20th century, our leader has begun to move away from God's word to the wants and desires of the people.

This nation was founded on the true word of God. Even though many today are trying their hardest to convince us that is not true. They've tried all kinds of methods from belittling and defaming our founding fathers to rewriting our history books. Our founding fathers were men like us, subject to error and faults. Which is why the word of truth which they established our laws on were not based on their own wants and desires, but on the unchangeable word of God. Men may fail, but God's word never fails.

Our great nation became this way because of God’s mercy and grace. Like the children of Israel, when we obeyed God, we were blessed beyond measure. As this nation has turned its back on God, we have declined in every aspect. How is this possible? How could we go from being what we once were, the number one nation to where we are today?

We can say that the unrighteous, the ungodly have made sin and evil more desirable than the things of God. But should that really make a difference? Is the God of all creation who resides in us truly greater than he that is in the world? No, I don't believe the change has taken place in the world just because of the ungodly. For sin has always been sin. But over the years, there has been a change in God’s church. Where sin has been coming out of the closet, it looks like the church is trying to go into it. Not willing to make a stand for the things of God's kingdom. The church, "God's people", has gotten caught up in their own wants and desires. The priorities of our flesh have become far more important than God’s will and way.

How can I say this? Am I being judgmental? I'm just looking at where we are as a nation, and we who are God's ambassadors, have the ability and authority to make a difference and change this nation. Think about the laws of this land. They have been put in place by those we have placed into office. These are our elected officials. The question we have to ask ourselves is, who are we placing into office, into leadership, to lead us? The word of God says, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked man rules, the people groan and sigh." (Proverbs 29:2). We as a nation are not rejoicing right now. We want to blame the politicians, but they have been put into office by us.

Now let’s ask ourselves the question, what values do we honor that causes us to select and vote for the individuals that we do? Do we lean to our own values and standards or to God’s? Politicians need our votes in order to be placed into office. So they are looking for what "we" hold as priorities and they make promises directly to what we say we want and need. So what are we saying we want? It is obvious that it is not the things of God by the individuals we keep placing into office. How can I say this? Let's take a look at ourselves.

We are all diverse individuals. We are male & female; young & old; black & white; rich & poor. When we vote we lean towards our diversities rather than the one thing that is far more important than who we are. And that is we are children of the Most High God. Our focus, our attention; our loyalty should be to the Kingdom of God. Matthew 6:10 say: Thy kingdom come, thy will be done. When who we are in God becomes far more important than who we are in the world, politicians will know that they need the Christian vote to get into office; that we as God's people far exceed those in sin. I've read in several places that the majority of Americans profess to be Christians. How can that be and this nation be in the condition that it is in? It is time that the true Sons of God become (live) the standards that God has called us to be.

We are blessed to live in a nation where our voice counts and can make a difference. We do so with the lives we live on a daily basis and with our vote. Now each of us have the right and freedom to vote for who we want. It is a right of all Americans given to us by God. But the time has come where the church of God needs to be in unity as never before. I'm not here to tell you who to vote for. Only to tell you to put aside your color, your gender, your age, your economic status and look to be led by the spirit of God. And vote for "Godliness". What we need is:

Make a noise, make a sound, let your voice, your vote be heard; that we the believers in God are one, and we stand for the things of God. For Jesus prayed to God the Father that we would be one, as He and the Father are one.
